The area around the villa

Villa Salis is located in the centre of the picturesque village Gonia, a small village surrounded by olive trees and 10 km away from the Rethymno city and the beach.

The area around the village is totally in nature and quiet! It is one of the best locations if you want to stay in a quiet village and also be close to the city and the beach!

It is also an ideal spot for daily excursions because of it central location in Crete. You can easily explore the North coast of Crete from Chania to Heraklion or drive to the South coast of Rethymno prefecture where you can find beautiful natural beaches.

The village has a mini market, a “souvlaki” grill house and a well known traditional tavern to locals just a few meters away!

The closest area where you can find shops, bakeries and supermarkets is in Atsipopoulo village which is 5 minutes away by car.
